Chocolate Crinkles

Dear Laurels, thanks for the inspiration!

  • 200 gr dark chocolate (Heidi I used)
  • 60 gr butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 80 gr sugar
  • 200 gr of flour
  • a sachet of baking powder
  • optional: free of rum
  • caster sugar and powdered sugar for rolling cookies

Servings: 12

Preparation time: less than 30 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Chocolate Crinkles:

In a saucepan, at the right heat, put the butter and chocolate, stirring constantly.

Mix the eggs with the sugar until you get a creamy foam.

Add the chocolate (at room temperature) and mix for complete incorporation.

Add flour together with baking powder and essences.


Homogenize the composition and keep it cold for a few hours, during which time it will harden enough to shape suitable large balls.

We pass the balls through caster sugar, then through powdered sugar and place them on the tray lined with baking paper.

Bake at 160 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Care must be taken when handling cookies after baking. They are very tender and break easily. After cooling, they will be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
